YOUR

QUESTIONS

Everything you might want to know about Shikoba gowns, ordering, sizing and custom options.
Do you hold stock?

No, all Shikoba gowns are made to order. This allows us to work responsibly, reduce waste and create each piece with care, rather than producing garments in advance.

How long do Shikoba gowns take to make?

Lead times vary depending on the design, but we generally recommend ordering 8–12 months before your wedding date.
If your date is sooner, speak with your chosen boutique or contact us directly — rush options may be possible depending on the gown and production schedule.

Do you offer rush orders?

In some cases, yes. Rush availability depends on the design, fabric availability and current production capacity. An additional rush fee applies. Your stockist can advise on availability and costs.

Are your gowns available worldwide?

Yes. Shikoba gowns are available through our stockists across the UK and internationally. Many boutiques also offer virtual consultations for those further afield.

If you don’t have a stockist near you, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help guide you.

What sizes do your gowns come in?

We offer an inclusive size range as standard, with gowns available from UK 2–UK 28. Sample sizes vary by boutique, and your stockist will help guide you to the best size to order based on your measurements.

Do you offer inclusive or bespoke sizing?

Yes. In addition to our standard size range, bespoke sizing outside UK 2–28 is available. This may involve additional pattern cutting and grading, and an extra cost may apply. Your boutique will talk you through the options and details.

Will I need alterations?

Yes, all gowns are made to order in the size closest to your measurements, and most will require some level of alteration for the perfect fit. Your boutique can recommend trusted seamstresses and guide you through the process.

If your measurements fall across sizes, split sizing is available. Please note this is not made-to-measure, and alterations will still be required.

Do you offer custom design?

Yes, for those wanting something truly unique, we offer a Custom Design service. Please speak to your nearest stockist or visit our contact page for more information.

Can I combine elements?

Yes, many brides choose a hybrid design. We can explore changes such as necklines, sleeve shapes, train length, back details, splits or fringing. Your stockist can discuss what’s possible and guide you through the process.

How do I try on a Shikoba gown?

You can try on Shikoba gowns at one of our handpicked boutique stockists. Each boutique carries a curated selection of styles. Visit our Stockists page to find your nearest location. Appointments are booked directly with the boutique.

Do you sell directly to brides?

We primarily work through our stockists. However, we do offer a limited number of studio appointments in Cheshire for those wishing to visit us directly.

Can I visit the Shikoba studio in Cheshire?

Yes, we offer a limited number of private, one-to-one appointments at our designer studio (our bijou HQ). These sessions are with Becca and are by appointment only. Please contact us via the Contact page to enquire.

Where are Shikoba gowns made?

Every Shikoba gown is designed by Becca in our Cheshire studio and made to order with a small number of trusted specialist ateliers. Each chosen for their skill, craftsmanship and attention to detail, allowing for a slower, more considered way of working.

Because our designs are led by texture and movement, gowns are created close to where the fabrics are sourced, whether that’s in the UK, Europe or Asia. This allows us to work carefully, responsibly and with close attention to quality.

Do you have an eco or sustainable collection?

We aim to work responsibly across the brand. For those who prefer a gown made entirely in the UK using British-sourced fabrics, our Shikoba Wild label offers a more local, artisan option. Some designs within this range feature eco-conscious fabrics.

What is your returns policy?

As all Shikoba gowns are made to order, they are non-refundable. Your boutique will guide you through their specific policies, and full details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.
