Shikoba Bride Favourites

We are about to launch the latest Shikoba Bride Collection and in preparation for the launch we are compiling a new collection called Shikoba Favourites, that brings our stunning Debut and 2019 Spring Collection together in one section before the new designs appear. These are our brides favourite pieces that are classics that we love and continue to design and produce for our brides.

We also thought it would be a great time to retell the tale of each of these gorgeous gowns. Starting with our signature fringe two piece the Harlowe.

Harlowe – Boho Fringe Sleeve Two Piece

Shikoba Bride Favourites

Harlowe is one hundred percent Shikoba Bride, when we designed this gown we had in mind creating a dress that could easily be worn anywhere, from the beach to a city hall, to a desert or mountain top. Harlowe is fully lined and delicate and light to wear, very comfortable and easy to carefully pack into a suitcase for any destination wedding anywhere in the world. Wear it with boots, converses, stappy heels, style it with a cowboy hat or a veil, however you want.

Designed for the free-spirited bride. Harlowe has a bohemian lace long sleeve topper, arm fringe and eyelash lace fringing around the waist, wrist and hem. A lace fitted skirt with a little train. The top is totally available without the fringing on sleeve if you’d prefer too!

Harper – Boho Bell Sleeves and Lace up Back Detail

HARPER

Harper has a gorgeous retro vibe, with unique lace, stunning lace-up detail on a low back cut, bell sleeves and a figure-hugging soft silhouette and a part of our Shikoba Bride Favourites. We designed this gown once we sourced and fell for the fabric, we loved its unique pattern which has a rustic authentic texture. The design is actually quite demure but with a daring cut out back with the fashion forward boho lace up back detail.

Rae – Harper Topper Teamed with our Flowing Rae Silk Skirt

Rae is our relaxed boho fringe topper Harlowe teamed with a flowing silk blush or ivory flowing skirt for a softer vibe. A complete boho babe of a look, we love how changing the skirt gives this Shikoba Bride favourite, a totally different vibe.

River – Geometric Beaded Boho Dress

We were so excited when we discovered the River fabric, we had wanted to create a dress that was totally boho but a bit glam too. This fabric with its heavily white sequin beading with its geometric pattern was perfect. Very often we name a dress once its totally finished and we really didn’t know what River was going to be called. We wanted a name that reflected the natural vibe we adore and as soon as we put her on, her curves and sparkle just felt like the flow of a river reflecting the light…so that was that!

River is an ivory beaded geometric bohemian pattern on a nude tulle backing. It has a sweetheart neckline, dipped back with zipper closure. It’s form fitting shape is uber flattering. River is for the bride who dares to be different and stands out from the crowd, a really striking gown. She looks incredible at any outdoorsy wedding venue, particularly near rivers and the sea!

Zara- Fringed Lace and Silk Boho Dress

Another of the Shikoba Bride Favourites collection is Zara. A full on silk floaty piece of heaven of a dress with cross over spaghetti strap bodice,  boho fringe detail on the bust and arm and just a bit of magic really.

We love Zara, as far as making an entrance goes, she is perfect for swishing your way along the aisle, whether that’s barefoot in a forest, in the desert or we can imagine in a run down and rustic chateaux somewhere. We created this dress to have a classic vibe with a twist.

We named the dress after after someone we know, we often do this as its lovely to be inspired by the amazing women we know and work with.
